LEADERSHIP - COMMUNITY - SAFETY

The Montana Executive Leadership Institute (MELI)delivers one of the most rigorous and high-caliber leadership programs available to public safety and professional leaders today. Drawing from methodologies tested and refined at elite institutions—including the United States Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, the FBI National Academy, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police—MELI offers a curriculum on par with the programs that have shaped top public safety executives and organizational leaders worldwide.
This intensive program equips participants to evaluate individual and team performance, identify and strengthen organizational culture, and make strategic decisions that drive measurable outcomes. Delivered by expert faculty with deep academic and practical experience, MELI blends corporate, academic, and operational insights into a uniquely comprehensive experience. To preserve its quality and individualized learning environment, enrollment is capped at just 32 students each year.
While MELI was originally crafted for executive-level public safety professionals, its principles extend far beyond law enforcement. Leaders in government, nonprofit, and private-sector organizations alike will find its lessons relevant and immediately applicable. Participation is not limited to Montana—students from across the U.S. and internationally have attended and are encouraged to apply.
